Emory Hill Sponsors CCIM Institute’s PA/NJ/DE Chapter Event

Emory Hill was proud to sponsor and host The CCIM Institute’s PA/NJ/DE chapter’s Lunch & Learn event at the historic Colored School #107 in Hockessin, DE.

Built in 1920 by Pierre S. du Pont, this former school has been reimagined into a Center for Diversity, Equity & Social Justice, inspired by its monumental history as home to one of the five cases that ultimately became Brown v. Board of Education.

This historic site, which is now a National Park Service Historic Site and a New Castle County Park, was transformed into a beautiful, light-filled, modern space by the non-profit Friends of Hockessin Colored School #107 Inc (“FOHCS”) and its development team.

Dr. David Wilk, Interim CEO of the organization and Professor & Director of the Real Estate Program at Temple University Fox School of Business, shared the remarkable story of transformation of this site. The group was also honored to hear firsthand experiences and stories from an original student at the school, James (Sonny) Knott.

CCIM members from around the region joined Emory Hill for the event. Emory Hill has 5 brokers with the prestigious CCIM designation. To learn more about CCIM Institute, visit www.ccim.com.
